７月２２日（水）　This week we did the short i vowel with the second graders, it can be difficult to get the grasp of the pronunciation but it is extremely important when studying English.

Despite corona we are managing to get through the English textbook quite quickly.  I’m glad we can keep going at such a pace even with the setbacks.  We have also started doing much harder dictation, moving from single letters in upper and lower case（大文字小文字） to simple words usually 2 or 3 letters long.
Even with corona we are still able to play some games and keep our distance, lately the kids have enjoyed playing ‘hangman’.  In this game I choose a random word and the kids guess letter by letter to try and figure out the word.  For each wrong letter I add a line to my drawing.  Unlike the original game I tend to draw ridiculous characters which the kids usually ask me to finish once they’ve figured out the word!
I look forward to seeing the kids master the short vowels and take a big step in their English learning journey!
