1年生 英語 First grade’s favourite game

8月28日(金) This week we are practicing writing F.  While it seems like a very simple character, if it’s not drawn properly, it can look very strange.  Capital F is straightforward and the kids got the hang of it quite quickly paying close attention to writing on the lines.  Lower case f(小文字のf)is a bit more difficult; it can be written in a few different ways.  This can be a bit confusing but the kids managed to write a lot of very neat lower case f’s.

After that we played one of the kids’ favourite games O/X.  In this game, we read through a couple pages in our word book and then close the books.  I then describe something in the book and the kids have to decide if it’s true ‘O’ or false ‘X’.  The descriptions can range from very simple like ‘the scissors are yellow’ to more difficult like ‘the standing boy has a boat on his sweater’.  The kids always enjoy O/X and could probably play it all lesson without getting bored.
