２月１２日（金）　Today we started with dictation, focusing on long “u”.  Words like cut – cute, cub – cube, etc.  These are words that the second graders are now studying in their textbooks, “Sounds Great 3.”  At first some students had some trouble understanding long vowel words, but most understand now.  After finishing our textbook work, we began vocabulary practice with the Word Book, studying words used in the neighborhood or on the way to school, such as “bank”, “supermarket”, or “department store”.  We then did an activity where I say a number and the students say the word next to it.  Whoever says the English word first comes to the front and can take part in a game at the end of the class.  Everyone wants to take part in this game, so everyone tries hard in guessing what the English word is!
