3年生 英語 English class with 3rd graders

5月13日(木) Today we started with a dictation quiz, focusing on short vowel “e” sounds.  The third graders had very little trouble with this, as this was a review quiz-we studied short vowel sounds last year.  Everyone did very well. We then opened our books: Let’s Go 1, and practiced very simple greetings using the phrase, “How are you?”.  We also reviewed colors-again, no problem for the third graders!  Of course, things will become more difficult further in the year, as we use more difficult grammar and vocabulary.  After finishing our textbook work, we began vocabulary practice with the Word Book, studying words used in the neighborhood or on the way to school, such as “bank”, “supermarket”, or “department store”.  We then played a simple game to see who had remembered the vocabulary, and the winners could stand at the front of the class at the end.
