1年生 英語 In the Kitchen

7月14日(水) Today we started the class with a song most students know already: “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”. This song is useful in memorizing body parts, but also the students get to move around at the start of the class, and I think this helps them focus better when it’s time to study with a textbook. The textbook the first graders are using is “Sounds Great 1”, and right now we are doing simple ABCs and phonics. We are up to “Kk”. Everyone is doing very well! After finishing the textbook, we opened our Word Books and studied vocabulary used inside the kitchen, “plates”, “refrigerator”, “flour”, etc. To help the students remember the vocabulary, we did a game where one student draws a picture of a “kitchen” word on the whiteboard, and whoever can guess what the picture is, can draw on the whiteboard next. That student’s team also gets a point, and the team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner!
