2年生 英語 In the Area

11月12日(金) Halloween is of course over, so it was time today to return the students’ pumpkin pictures.  After that, we continued our dictation, today using blends such as bl, cl, fl, etc.  Some students have trouble hearing the difference between the “l” and the “r” sound, so this is good practice for them, and helps with their pronunciation. Now is an important time for students at their age to learn English pronunciation! We then continued studying “magic e”, the focus of their studies in their textbook; Sounds Great 3. All the students are doing very well, and are really understanding the use of “magic e” in English words. After finishing our textbook work, we began vocabulary practice with the Word Book, studying words used in the neighborhood, on the way to school, such as “bank”, “supermarket”, or “department store”. We then did an activity where I say a number and the students say the word next to it. Whoever says the English word first comes to the front and can play in a game at the end of the class. Everyone wants to play in this game, so everyone tries hard in guessing what the English word is!
