2年生 英語 Monster Faces!

2月25日(金) The second graders had a busy day today! We started the class with a dictation using vowel combinations, such as, “ou”, “ow”, “oi”, and “oy”.  For example, words like, “cloud”, “cow”, “oil” and “toy”. This was a little difficult for some, but don’t worry!  We will review these words next year when they are in the 3rd grade.
We then sang a song, “One Little Finger”, to review parts of the body such as, eyes, nose, mouth, etc.  The reason for this was for our next activity: Monster Faces!  This is a game we usually play during Halloween, but I thought it would be fun to try it again.  The students first make pairs.  After they have drawn their “monster face”, they take turns asking these two questions:  1. How many (eyes)?  2.      What color?  The students draw what they think their partner’s monster face looks like (and no speaking Japanese!).  After they are done they show each other their monster face – and always laugh!
