３月１４日（月）　This year Sundai Elementary School began the Sunsho Recitation Challenge for the first time!  This is a speech contest to encourage students to practice speaking English in front of other people.  The contest is open to all students, and there are two speeches, children’s stories that everyone knows:
(Grades 1~3) “The Lion and the Mouse”
(Grades 4~6) “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”
The students are judged by five categories: 1. memorization  2.confidence & volume  3. pronunciation & intonation  4. eye contact & gesture  5. speed & pausing.
Today the 3rd graders came to the English Center to do their best.  They were nervous, but everyone could remember every word of the speech!  Students in all grades have done very well.  Although only the winners of the contest received a special certificate, this is a great experience for everyone and we plan to have the Recitation Challenge every year from now on.
